The senate appropriations committee did not pass Senate Bill 939, the controversial bill proposed by Senator Scott Wiener and Senator Lena Gonzalez.  The bill included significant protections for commercial tenants which would have enacted a moratorium on evictions for certain commercial tenants and trigger certain renegotiation rights for such tenants.  The bill was strongly opposed from landlord advocates.
